KOB Open House by Day. Chewbacchus Parade by Night.

Today was a big day! We started out the day at Company Burger and had the best burgers on the planet. We then headed over to Babylon's Den for float viewing and a few hours of entertainment and mingling with the members. Later tonight, it was time to head to the Marigny for the much-anticipated Chewbacchus Parade. Here are some of our favorite pictures!

Our first Mardi Gras parades!

Here are photos from the French Quarter parades on February 15. Krewe Du Vieux and Krewe Delusion both rolled through the quarter right after sundown. Obviously, these were not really "family friendly" parades.... although I will say, I chose the "friendliest" photos from the bunch.

Official Invitations to our first Mardi Gras Ball!

Praline Bacon at Elizabeth's

We've been told by many that Elizabeth's is a must-eat-at restaurant in New Orleans. The praline bacon alone is enough reason to go there. So, of course we had to go. We arrived around 5:30. Elizabeth's is the first story of a house in the Bywater/Marigny area. The lights were off and candles were lit on all the tables. We were offered corn muffins and water before we ordered our "Elizabeth Dream Burger" complete with that praline bacon. Yep, heaven. Everybody loves bacon. But this bacon was like thick cut bacon, fried, then sprinkled with sugar- but even better than that! Delicious!

February 1, 2014: Our #100 Restaurant

Drum roll please........we have arrived at our 100th restaurant! Yes, as of tonight we have been to 100 different restaurants in the New Orleans area! Tonight we celebrated at Mr. John's Steakhouse on St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District. We enjoyed Calamari as an appetizer with some amazing marinara and bread, Ribeye Steaks for our main, and of course, Creme Brulee for dessert.

January 31: Tuba Skinny at DBA

Friday night we headed down to Frenchmen Street to see our favorite local band, Tuba Skinny at DBA. Tuba Skinny is one of the few local bands we know here that travels internationally. It's always a treat to see them on the street corner or in one of the venues here in town.

Tennessee Visitors :)

We were so happy to have Niki, Brian, and Caitlin here for a visit! We had a big weekend, eating lots of delicious food, playing in the park, taking a late night plantation road trip, and exploring the French Quarter! Here are some of our photos...
