Saying Good-bye to Mardi Gras...

It seems as though it started with rain and ended in rain. Our first big day of parades was on February 23. It poured rain all day and we were totally soaked after only a short time. On the up side, most people stayed home so we had an entire section of bleacher seating to ourselves! Two weeks later, after parades, balls, way too much king cake, and costuming we found ourselves waking up to a down-pour Fat Tuesday morning. People have told us it was the least crowded they have ever seen Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras. Even though there were lots of people, you could tell many had to alter their costumes or leave them at home all together. Check out our Mardi Gras Photos tab for lots more pictures soon. Below are a few of the highlights! We had so much fun this year. We caught over 350 strands of beads!
